The 6th event of the Pkra World Tour is over and I’m really stoked to be back on the podium after 2 events!
After a 6th place in Venezuela and an event to forget in Germany I was looking forward to ride solid again and make it to the podium.
Fuerteventura has probably the most hardcore conditions on the whole tour, where very strong and gusty offshore wind makes it really challenging for every rider.
This year especially the gusts were really unpredictable and strong..making it really hard to find the right spot where to jump or land your tricks.
In the singles the wind was cranking and I was riding on my 5m really powered! I had a good heat against my team mate Hendrix Burgers that was riding really good! Then I had a close heat with Marc Jacobs, but enough to pass but then lost in the semis with Alex Pastor.
I was up in the final with my mate Reno Romeu from Brazil and I really struggle to land tricks in the inside. I crashed too many times at the beginning and then landed some good stuff at the end but those were over the 12 tricks limit. I was still happy on 4th in the singles!
For the doubles the wind dropped a bit, It was still gusty but easier to deal with a 9m then a 5m kite! I had a couple solid heats, I saved my 4th place with Marc Jacobs again and then won also against Romeu. I was up against Alex then, still had a pretty good heat but he was just on fire…deserved it to win the event!
I’m still stoked to have made it back to the podium and kept me 3rd place overall!!
I’m gonna be home for a week of rest now after the first half of the year on tour!
The Pkra stops for a couple months now and the next event is gonna be in China at the beginning of November!
